My pal Derek went to join my other loved ones and friends in that lovely garden on evening of Friday Aug. 29th/2008 at 9.30pm, it came as such a shock, so quick, so sudden, no warning, no time to say goodbyes, and I am still stunned, I ask why ? but I have no answers.God please tell me why? god please let me find my way. I know the doctors and nurses at RAH did the best they could but to no avail.Derek was in best care we thought, but god had other plans for him it seems,
Derek thanks for looking out for us pal and being there and I hope you and my mum and dad sandy and everyone welcomed you to their world.
I will look out for your mum and dad here and I know you will be looking out for them now too.

Hello Derek ,was waiting on that knock on door this morning ,as you were always first one who would
usually 7.30am or earlier on any of our birthday mornings be at door with card and gifts lol ,and wishing us a happy birthday and it would make our day and I know Darren probably was thinking same this morning on his special day, you dont relise how much we miss that now ,always would know Derek our special friend would be first person on our birthdays would pop in ,always some special gift , beautiful cards and a bottle champers for breakfast lol and have those special birthday breakfasts with us ,how we miss it all , I know you will be looking over Darren today and also say a bigggggggggggggg hello in heaven to our special friendSandy too on this his 5th anniversary in heaven, bet your all celebrating today too lol
